Fancy Gloss - Captured Butterfly - March 2018 Polish Pickup

Today I am beyond thrilled to share with you Fancy Gloss' first contribution to March 2018's Polish Pickup, and she's starting off with a bang!

The theme for March 2018 Polish Pickup is Books, and Fancy Gloss chose The Collector by John Fowles as inspiration.

*not my photo*

As always, let's start off with the details:

WherePolish Pickup

When:  March 2, 2018 at 11am EST through March 5, 2018 at Midnight.

Price: $12.50 each

Cap:  No Cap

Captured Butterfly

Captured Butterfly is described as a Dark Teal (cold) to Violet (warm) thermal with Turquoise shimmer & light pink micro flakes.

Captured Butterfly is stunning isn't it?  It was almost opaque in one coat, but I always use two for good measure.  It dries naturally to a matte finish but I have it shown here with a glossy top coat.

The formula was excellent.  It applied very smoothly and even.

Warm State

Transition

That was a lot of photos huh? Captured Butterfly is just so gorgeous I found it very hard to whittle down all the pictures so I decided to just share a bunch.  I hope you enjoyed them!

One last thing, I want to give you some background on what Polish Pickup itself is.

Polish Pickup is a group on Facebook that is an interactive experience that allows you to submit theme ideas and then everyone votes for their favorite choice.

After the winning theme is chosen and announced, different brands will create polishes, nail art items, or bath and beauty products, based off of the chosen monthly theme, that will be available for preorder on the Polish Pickup website for the first Friday of each month at 11 AM EST.

It stays open for four days, until the following Monday at Midnight EST.  At that point, all the products available are gone, and won't be back as everything is Limited Edition for that month.

Since all polishes are pre-ordered, they will ship a minimum of 3 weeks after sale commencement.

And, the cherry on top? Polish Pickup ships for a flat fee of $3 in the US and $5 for Canada.  They also ship internationally at cost!

Cuticula - Fresh Apples Scented Silk Base Coat & Timeless Top Coat - March 2018 Polish Pickup

It's that time of the month again where we all start making our lists for Polish Pickup, and today I have Cuticula's March contribution to share with you!

This month's Polish Pickup theme is Books, and Cuticula has picked The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein.

*not my picture*

Cuticula will be offering their Timeless Top Coat and new Silk Base Coat.  Both will be in the scent Fresh Apples!

Fresh Apples is described as a perfect refreshing combination of Cameo, McIntosh, Red Delicious, Fuji, and Granny Smith apples.

First let's start with the details:

When:  March 2, 2018 at 11am EST through March 5, 2018 at Midnight.

Price: $8.50 each

Cap:  No Cap

Silk Base Coat

Cuticula Silk Base Coat

Silk Base Coat is 5 Free (Free of formaldehyde, toluene, DBP, formaldehyde resin, and camphor).

Some other benefits are:
- Fast Drying (nails will be dry to the touch in about 3 minutes)
- Hours of Fresh Apples scent once fully dry
- High gloss shine
- Non Yellowing
- Durable Protection

I have been wearing Silk Base Coat since about November when Amanda asked me if I would be interested in testing out the new base coat.  I jumped at the chance because strengthening base coats have my heart.

This base coat is phenomenal and has replaced all other base coats, with the exception of Cuticula's (sticky) Static Base Coat.

In the four months I have been wearing this I have had minimal breakage, (with the exception of going to open a cabinet and missing, causing my hand to bang hard into the door, and cracking one nail).  My nails have been growing nice and strong otherwise, I constantly have to trim them.

If I am having one of those days where I don't have the time to paint my nails, I will put on a coat of Silk Base Coat and I am good to go.  It protects them and keeps them looking shiny all day.

*please ignore the tint to my nails as that's normal for me, short of buffing\bleaching I have tried everything to get them whiter but they remain tinted*

Look at all the growth in the short amount of time!

I have also gotten FANTASTIC wear time using this.  I have gotten 14 days with just one chip, (the chip only happened on the 14th day too!), and regular tip wear.   I always use Silk Base Coat and Timeless Topcoat paired together for all my wear tests.

Most of the time I only wear my polish for a few days at a time, but when I saw how wonderfully it was holding up I wanted to put it to the test.  I had to tap out at 14 days though, I desperately needed to change it for my mental happiness by then.

Fresh Apples Scented Timeless Top Coat

Timeless Top Coat is a 5 Free, Scented Top Coat.  While it is not marked as a quick dry top coat, I find that it dries to the touch in about 3 minutes, but it's not quite ready for anything heavy duty until about 40-45 minutes.  At that point though I am ready for whatever.  I have put it to the ultimate test, I can even shower at that point and my manicure will remain flawless.

It's super shiny, doesn't dull holo or flakie polishes, and does not cause shrinkage.  I use it for nail stamping all the time too.  I get a nice bead of the top coat on the end of my brush and float it over the polish and haven't had one complaint.

This month's scent Fresh Apples is one of my new favorites.  When I sniff it I can smell the apples but it also elicits something else.  I think it reminds me of a shampoo or conditioner I used to use, but neither my boyfriend or I can put our finger on which one.  He really likes the scent too, and he can be so very fussy, so Fresh Apples is a hit in my house, which makes me happy!

Before I go, I wanted to give you some background on just what Polish Pickup itself is.

Vapid Lacquer - February 2018 Releases

February is a very exciting month around Vapid Headquarters because it's Krys, the genius behind Vapid Lacquer's Birthday Month!  Happy Birthday Krys!

This year Vapid Lacquer is bringing you 10 new polishes, and one Birthday Bitch, who has gotten a bit of a makeover, and it's kind of amazing.

Let's start with some details.
When:  Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 1pm CST.

There will be a limited number of stock available for each, so if there is something you really want, grab it first.

This release will also contain other, non-polish, items!  There will be new Perfume Oil Rollerballs, and bath and body items too.  But, we'll get into that more at the end.

Now, let's jump on into those polishes!

I'm going to start with the Basic Bitch Collection.

The Basic Bitch Collection is a gorgeous set of shimmery nudes.  The basics of every solid collection are started here and Vapid Lacquer does plan on building on these shades.  They have some contrasting shimmer in some of the shades for a pop of color.

Basic Bitch V03

V03 is described as a soft shimmering ethereal petal pink.

Shown here is 2 coats plus Vapid Lacquer's High Shine Quick Dry Top Coat.

The formula was excellent, it was very smooth and applied easily.

Basic Bitch V07

V07 is described as a milky sandy base with a blurple\magenta shimmer.

I felt my swatches didn't do this justice.  It reminded both me and my boyfriend of a seashell in person.  It had that delicate glow to it.  I took a picture of it in regular indoor light with my iPhone, which was able to capture it better. I will include that picture as the last swatch in this set.

Shown here is 2 coats plus Vapid Lacquer's High Shine Quick Dry Top Coat.

The formula was excellent, it was very smooth and applied easily.

Basic Bitch V09

Basic Bitch V09 is described as a light dusty pink with gold shimmer.

Shown here is 3 thin coats plus Vapid Lacquer's High Shine Quick Dry Top Coat.

The formula was excellent, it was very smooth and applied easily.

Basic Bitch V11

Basic Bitch V11 is described as a cool toned dusty rose with blue shimmer.

When I applied my first coat, I audibly said "oooh".   The shimmer just leaps off your nails at you.  It positively glows.

Shown here is 3 thin coats plus Vapid Lacquer's High Shine Quick Dry Top Coat.

The formula was excellent, it was very smooth and applied easily.

Basic Bitch V15

Basic Bitch V15 is described as a warm-toned nude rose with a silvery sheen.

Shown here is 3 thin coats plus Vapid Lacquer's High Shine Quick Dry Top Coat.

The formula was excellent, it was very smooth and applied easily.

Basic Bitch V21

Basic Bitch V21 is described as a brick like pink with pink shimmer.

Shown here is 2 coats without Vapid Lacquer's High Shine Quick Dry Top Coat.  My brother started talking to me when I was swatching and I didn't realize I forgot to add the top coat until much later.  It was so shiny on its own, I completely didn't realize.

This entire collection is similar, so if you want to skip the top coat, step,  you totally can.

The formula was excellent, it was very smooth and applied easily.

Basic Bitch V29

Basic Bitch V29 is described as a rose gold with gold shimmer and a light scattered holo.

Shown here is 2 coats plus Vapid Lacquer's High Shine Quick Dry Top Coat.

The formula was excellent, it was very smooth and applied easily.

Basic Bitch V31

Basic Bitch V31 is described as a smooth milk chocolate with a peeking holo sparkle.

This shade is the perfect milk chocolate.  It may or may not have made me go grab a mini Hershey's bar from the chocolate drawer we totally don't have! ;)

Shown here is 2 coats plus Vapid Lacquer's High Shine Quick Dry Top Coat.

The formula was excellent, it was very smooth and applied easily.

Basic Bitch V33

Basic Bitch V33 is described as a dark, shimmering cocoa.

V33 is another favorite.  I absolutely LOVE this polish.  It's such a rich, perfect brown.

Shown here is 2 coats plus Vapid Lacquer's High Shine Quick Dry Top Coat.

The formula was excellent, it was very smooth and applied easily.

Criminal Mischief

Criminal Mischief is a complimentary shade to the Basic Bitch Collection.  It is described as a berry leaning shimmering red.

Criminal Mischief looks amazing both glossy and matte, which I will also be showing you.  Red polishes usually intimidate me because they're so bold, and I'm very much the opposite.  This one, however, can't be denied, it's gorgeous and glowy, and I feel a little daring wearing it, which I liked!

Shown here is 2 coats plus Vapid Lacquer's High Shine Quick Dry Top Coat.

The formula was excellent, it was very smooth and applied easily.

^with matte top coat.

Birthday Bitch 2018

Last, but certainly not least, is Birthday Bitch 2018, and this bitch has been given a makeover!  She's a thermal polish for 2018!

Birthday Bitch 2018 has a turquoise hue when cold and turns to a shimmering gray when warm.  It's a little deeper this year with a splash of holographic rainbows, a shimmer that shifts, and pink-gold-green-shifting flakies.

I always get a little picture happy with Thermals, so prepare yourselves!

Shown here is 2 coats plus Vapid Lacquer's High Shine Quick Dry Top Coat.

The formula was excellent, it was very smooth and applied easily.

First I have the cold state shown below.

Next are some pictures in the warm state below.

Now for some pictures of Birthday Bitch 2018 in transition!

Isn't that a gorgeous lineup for this February 2018 release?

But wait! There is more!

Also releasing February 17, 2018 at 1pm CST will be new bath and body items!

Vapid Lacquer will be launching a new line of Perfume Oil!

This Perfume Oil is different from their Body Mists in that the fragrance is more concentrated and is not used for a full body emersion but for a small burst of scent.

These sulfate free fragrances are swimming in light and quickly absorbing fractionated coconut oil.

They will be available in a rollerball style like you see above and they are perfect to just roll on. toss in your purse, and go.

The basic application spots are the best, i.e. the throat, back of your neck, just below your hairline, your wrist, etc.

The scent I received was Candy Clouds.  It is described as a tart lemon zest and sweet lemon curd, a dollop of vanilla and a whole cloud of cotton candy! Light and lip-smacking sweet!

If you are already familiar with and love the scent, you will be very happy because this smells exactly like all the other Candy Cloud products I have tried, which made me incredibly happy as it is one of my favorite scents.  Now I get to smell good enough to eat!

Also available this month will be Body Cream, Body Bars, Body Mist, Nail Sauce, Nail Elixirs, Whipped Sugar Scrubs, Fluffy Whipped Soap, Skin Care, and Beard Oil!  You will see some new scents along with your favorites.

Vapid will also be introducing bar soaps back to their Bath and Body care line!

That was a lot of information, so I'll remind you of the launch date and time one last time before I go,
